Geotube® MDS® units are built to fit on standard open top steel containers. It simplify the control water coming out from the system and make easier the removal and transport of sludge to a final destination. This Geotube® type allows the dewatering of material with high moisture at a waste management plant arrival.
The cleaning up and maintenance of body equipment’s in wastewater treatment plants is a recurrent need due to the enormous wear and tear that is daily exposed. Geotube® technology was successful applied to confine, store and dewater the sediments that had to be removed from a biological reactor. The ease and speed application advantages of Geotube® solution ensures high efficiency in this type of operation.
Complying with the specifications of the former JAE for drainage works, recognized as a reference, the non-woven geotextile TenCate Polyfelt TS-10 demonstrated once again its suitability and economic added value in the execution of a 40,000m2 industrial unit in the north of Portugal.
TenCate Geotube® sludge dewatering technology had been applied in a WWTP in order to solve the high solids concentration present in the system. Due to the good results achieved in the sludge dewatering by the Geotube® system, the WWTP managers decided to extend the dewatering platform and apply a new Geotube® unit, continuing the excellent work done so far.
Geosin supplied TenCate Polyfelt Miragdrid GX for the construction of a solid waste management unit in the north of the country. In addition to its mechanical strength, this geogrid also stands out for its malleability (lack of roll memory) during installation.
Geotube® technology was the solution implemented in an urban Wastewater Treatment Plant to respond to the significant increase in the sludge volume that inflew in the wastewater treatment process during the hottest months in Portugal. Geosin supplies and supervises the implementation of the global solution, from materials dedicated to soil sealing to the sludge dewatering technique. This technique allows the sludge confinemnet and storage at the same time.
The material TenCate Polyfelt TS was applied as a separator in the rehabilitation of urban roads in the north of the country. The wide variety of widths on roll availabillty minimizes material waste in this type of works.
As an immediate solution to the problem of heavy vehicles access to a WWTP (Waste Water Treatment Plant), needed for the transport of dewatered sludge, TenCate Geotube® sludge dewatering technology was the solution! Beside dewatering function, confinement and temporary storage simultaneously can be also assured by Geotube® system. It allows continuity of the current dewatering operation until the moment that ideal access conditions of these vehicles to the WWTP have been restored.
Geosin followed the application of TenCate Polyfelt P in a railway maintenance work, carried out at night in the center of the country. The replacement of the ballast and the placement of a non-woven geotextile separator made of high performance polypropylene are fundamental to guarantee the service level of the line.
Geotube® MDS® solution is designed for smaller applications and/or small areas. A Geotube® MDS® unit of 9.8m3 capacity, dimensioned for standard containers, allowed the dewatering of 200 m3 of sludge produced in the wastewater treatment process of a textile dyeing industry. Geotube® solution assures an high reduction of the sludge volume (95%) to be managed and allows the WWTP to carry out this operation only once an year.
