Sistemas Geotube® para Aplicações Marinhas

For more than 40 years, we have Protected Shorelines, Rebuilt Beaches and Reclaimed Land from the sea
Fighting and controlling the power of water is a daunting task. But more than 40 years ago, we developed a technology that could be used to stop storm damage, protect the environment, build custom structures, and even build islands where they didn’t exist before.

Geosystem for Marine Applications

Geosystem technology is a proven, cost-effective method for a variety of shoreline protection and marine construction projects. Geosystem have been used to produce sand dune cores; wetlands and other habitats; jetties, dikes, and groynes; underwater structures – and to even raise brand new islands from under water.

Developed using input from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Geosystems are cost-effective, durable, easy to install and highly flexible. It has been proven in applications around the world and is installed in more than 50 countries. Better yet, Geosystems have literally saved millions of euro’s for companies and individuals.

In the Geosystem technology we have two products:

  • TenCate Geotube® systems;
  • TenCate Geocontainer® systems;

The TenCate Geotube® system can be applied in shallow water depths or on shore. The TenCate Geocontainer® system
is for application in deeper water, water depth between 3 and 15 meters.

Sistemas Geotube para desidratação

GEOSIN was pioneered on the introduction of Geotube® technology in Iberia market. Worldwide recognized, this system has broad applicability in hydraulic works but also on dewater material with high moisture content. GEOSIN provides and contribute with TenCate solutions to the increase of its performance, reducing costs and providing measurable results. Therefore, we always work with our clients to provide the most advanced and effective solutions.

The Low Cost, High Volume Dewatering Solution

Geotube® dewatering technology has become the method of choice for organizations around the world. It is used for projects large and small, and there’s good reason; simplicity and low cost.

Since Geotube® dewatering technology works without belts or gears, there are less moving parts, less wear, less downtime and less spare parts then in conventional techniques.

Geotube® containers are available in a variety of sizes, depending on your volume and space requirements. Geotube® systems can even be mounted in mobile roll-off containers that can be
transported around your property as necessary. It’s one of the most versatile dewatering technologies available. Thereby it is one of the most effective solutions available.Volume reduction can be as much as 90%, with high solid levels that make removal and disposal easy.

Process

Sistemas Desidratação fase 11 – Filling

Sludge is pumped into the Geotube® unit. To these are added polymers, environmentally safe, which will contribute to a separation of the solid part and the liquid part. The unique construction of the textile material that is made Geotube® will confine the entire solid part as the most fine particles of those slurries.

Sistemas Desidratação fase 22 – Filtration

Excess water is expelled out from Geotube® through the small pores of the geotextile, resulting in an effective dewatering and significant volume reduction of contained material. This volume reduction still allows the Geotube® be refilled several times. In many cases, the dewatered water is of such quality that can either return to the natural current, as even back to be reused in the process.

Sistemas de Desitração fase 33 – Consolidation

All dry matter remains stored within the Geotube® unit. Depending on the initial % dry matter, volume reduction is often greater than 90%. By the other hand, the cake dryness achieved with Geotube, when compared with any other alternative methods of dewatering, is much higher. When fully saturated and dewatered, Geotube® and its contents can be deposited in a landfill or solid matter can be removed and applied on the ground when appropriate.

TenCate Geotube® Systems are manufactured in our world-class production facilities, and these Geocontainment Systems replace rock in erosion protection works for waterways and impoundments. TenCate has the widest range of engineered fabrics and composites for the fabrication of Geotube® Geocontainment Systems. These engineered fabrics are designed for strength, robustness, abrasion resistance, UV resistance, etc. for the most demanding of site conditions.

For TenCate Geotube® Geobag Systems, Sand Filled Mattress Systems and Dyke Systems high tenacity woven polypropylene is used. Special fibres and yarns may be incorporated to form engineered composites for additional engineering functions. For example, TenCate Geotube® Sand Filled Mattress Systems uses a special “mulch-integrated” composite on the exposed surface to provide a surface environment that will speed up vegetation growth. TenCate Geotube® Dyke Systems can also be manufactured with a coarse grain fibre substrate that enhances resistance to sand abrasion, debris impact resistance, etc.

For TenCate Geotube® Concrete Mattress Systems and Silt Curtain Systems, special pore size and high strength woven polyester fabrics which give good drape properties are used. When it comes to protecting your waterway and impoundment surfaces, TenCate Geotube® Systems have you well covered.
